A single-login learning hub where universities, educators and aspiring pathologists teach, learn and assess.
Project Summary
- Client: The Pathology Network
- Industry: education
- My role: Lead Developer
- Core tasks: LMS architecture, Course builder, Assessments & grading, Web app development
- Appointed date: May 2021
- Completion: Oct 2021
Pathology training resources were scattered: slides in one place, readings in another, quizzes somewhere else, each with its own login. TPN wanted one home for pathology education that universities, educators and students could all share.
The problem
- Fragmented resources. Content, assessments and admin tools were spread across platforms.
- Login fatigue. Students and educators juggled multiple accounts.
- Hard to collaborate. There was no easy way to share materials among colleagues and cohorts.
What I built
ALIS AC, a web-based learning management system built from scratch:
- Course and lesson builder. Educators assemble lessons from text, images and media without technical help.
- Assessments and grading. Quizzes and tests, with grading tools for instructors.
- Institutions and cohorts. Universities sign up, enrol their students and access shared courses.
- Resource sharing. Materials are shared among colleagues and students within an institution.
- Staff training. TPN uses the same platform to train its own teams on skills, policy and compliance.
The result
Everything a pathology learner needs now sits behind one login, and educators spend less time stitching tools together and more time teaching.
